Immediate Opening: Full-Time
TransWorld SKATEboarding, the world’s leading skateboard publication based in Oceanside, California, is looking to add a full-time Art Director to its award-winning staff of editors, photographers, & writers. Our atmosphere is casual but focused on achievement. We offer excellent benefits including a 401K plan.
Duties include being a member of a two-person art directorial team responsible for designing and assembling the world’s largest skateboarding publication twelve times per year, along with an additional three special issues and other day-to-day artwork needs including ad layouts, media kit designs, product graphics, and much more.
Applicants must possess the following:
Degree (preferred) in graphic design with the ability to design - not just layout
A vast and polished knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark and Adobe CS
A vast and polished knowledge of professional and amateur skateboarding
A solid handle on current magazine layout, and a creative approach to taking on a new position
Responsibility to manage and meet weekly, and often, daily deadline schedules
Excellent communication skills as needed to work among production department as well as full staff of editors and photographers Ability to manage different projects simultaneously
